Kansas City Royals v Seattle Mariners

Royal’s General Manager Dayton Moore has told the media that closer Joakim Soria could possibly be facing Tommy John surgery after an MRI showed damage to Soria’s ulnar collateral ligament.  Soria will seek a second opinion; however, if the results prove to be the same he will miss the entire 2012 season.  This is the second serious blow to the Royals hopes of contending in 2012 after catcher Salvador Perez was lost possibly for half of the season to a knee injury. Soria has been one of the few bright spots for the Royals accumulating 160 saves and 2 all-star appearances in five seasons.
